Learn the Secret to a Life of Deep Connection and Purpose
Jennie Wallace, award-winning journalist and New York Times bestselling author of Never Enough, is the founder of The Mattering Institute and co-founder of The Mattering Movement. Her new book, Mattering, explores belonging, connection, and purpose, offering a roadmap for meaningful lives and compassionate communities.
Wallace will join Bob Waldinger, director of the Harvard Grant Study, for a morning session for mental health professionals, and an evening conversation with acclaimed author Kelly Corrigan—two inspiring discussions on how to cultivate a sense of significance in all aspects of life.

A clinical psychologist and faculty member at Harvard Medical School, Elkins is also co–program director of the Anxiety Mastery Program at McLean Hospital. This talk shifts the focus to parental anxiety, addressing how parents can raise resilient children, navigate the overwhelming volume of parenting advice, and break cycles of parent–child anxiety through practical, science-based strategies.
De La Fuente, an Evanston native and North Shore Country Day ’87 alum, is a film, television, and stage actor known for roles in The Man in the High Castle, Hemlock Grove, Space: Above and Beyond, and recurring appearances on Law & Order: SVU.
Sakata is an American film, television, and stage actress and playwright, best known for her Broadway play Hold These Truths, which chronicles Gordon Hirabayashi’s legal challenge to the WWII incarceration of Japanese Americans. North Shore Country Day will host De La Fuente and partner with FAN for a public evening program featuring a 45-minute table reading followed by a Q&A with De La Fuente, Sakata, and Lisa Doi ’09 of the Japanese American National Museum.
