Art Club Students Work on Art projects and explore various art techniques. Mr. Seidel
ALS Club American Sign Language Club teaches students sign language. Students learn sign language through music and daily conversation. Ms. Roeser, Mrs. Burton & Mrs. Rosen

Destination Imagination

A worldwide creative, team-focused, STEAM competition. District 70 students from K-8 start out competing regionally, then can advance to the state level, and then may reach the global competition.

Drama Club Students participate in acting games and learn acting techniques. Drama Club offers participants the chance to experience the excitement and rewards of theater arts while developing social skills, confidence and the ability to work with others.  Mrs. Burton, Ms. Vegter, Mrs. Klemp & Mr. Friedman

Highland Buddies (NORA Project) Highland Buddies is a collaboration with the NORA Project's STEMpathy club.  Highland Buddies is a friendship club that promotes an inclusive school climate and a community of acceptance.  Mrs. Fry

Jr. Thespians The International Thespian Society (ITS), Is an honorary organization  that honors student achievement in the theatre arts. Students involved in this club are inducted either in the Winter or the Spring. Students participate in the annual murder mystery, inductions, and lead activities during Drama Club and other theater events.   Mrs. Burton
Literary Magazine Students design, create, contribute original poetry, prose, stories and artwork to a book that is published in the spring. Dr. Wyatt
Magic, The Gathering Students learn how to play this card game and enhance their skills. Mr. Crown
MathCounts A nationwide middle school mathematics competition held in various places in the United States. Its founding sponsors include the CNA Foundation, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Mrs. Chapman
Musical Students practice, rehearse and perform a spring play. Opportunities for students to participate as actors and/or crew Mrs. Burton
National Geographic Bee An annual geography contest sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The bee, held annually since 1989, is open to students in the fourth through eighth grades in participating schools from the United States. Dr. Wyatt
National Junior Honor Society An honorary organization that  recognizes and encourages academic achievement while developing the ideals of character, service,  leadership and citizenship for 7th and 8th Graders.  Five service hours and monthly meetings are required.   Mrs. Grant
Science Olympiad/Engineer: Students participate in a team competition in which students compete in 23 events pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. TBD
Speech Club/Forensics Students learn and practice writing and giving speeches. They also can compete in a Forensics Festival. Mrs. Varghese, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Dirst, & Mrs. Dunlap
Talent Show Students display their talents in a performance in front of friends and families. Mrs. Battaglia & Mrs. VanDyke.
