We're Here to Help
Each D70 school has at least one social worker and/or psychologist. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists and social workers partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
Some examples of services a social worker or psychologist may offer in a typical school day include, but are not limited to, running social skills groups, providing individual counseling and social-emotional support, providing or helping develop a plan for academic assistance, behavior help, and many other supports.
